A Year End Message from our Global CEO

Friday, 12 December 2025 08:31
Jaco van der Merwe, DVT Global CEO

First and foremost, I wish to express my personal thanks to you for the opportunities you have afforded us to partner with you through this year. At DVT we fully appreciate the relationships on which this is built and we do not take this lightly. We have and will continue to work hard to merit the trust you have put in us and we are determined to ensure your experience with DVT is one that you will readily recommend to others.

Amazingly, this year is already in countdown to the new year. The blistering pace at which it seems time is passing has only been echoed by the dynamic changes in the technology field. The rise (and rise) of AI is I am sure something that has been a subject for everyone with a shift this year from “what is it” to “where to realise value”. The challenge to date for many has been both what to measure and how to affect the change that will deliver expected results. It is proving to be as much about change management and the key business asset (people) as it is about the technology. A holistic approach, with multiple dimensions considered in respect to organisation maturity, is proving essential to success in our engagements and our advice to our clients and partners.

Looking ahead towards 2026, our year of
Expert Led, AI Driven Software Development

The view ahead indicates that most leaders are anticipating additional investment in GenAI, AI and business intelligence (Gartner’s 2026 CIO Agenda indicating more that 80% of survey respondents increasing funding in these areas in 2026). The drivers behind these efforts and others are pressures to reduce costs and drive productivity. At DVT we fully appreciate these as key metrics and have invested our time in accelerating our own adoption and enablement of our business and services with AI in order to bring considered, experience-based advice, engagement services and solutions to our customers.

Competence with technology is no longer sufficient. Key differentiation in rapidly evolving technology demands a scarce commodity: experience. This has seen us build our own AI-based products internally, undertake significant up-skilling in our engineering capability and consciously move toward where we believe we will deliver the most value: expert-led, AI-infused solutions engineering services. Building on the foundation of our business (our highly skilled engineering teams), we are ensuring we bring the critical factor to success with AI at this time: human experts in the loop. Less hype, more practical, proven real-world results. That will be the distinction for our customers in this accelerating age of AI.

Finally, on behalf of DVT and myself, I wish you and your family a safe, happy holiday season and the very best for the 2026 new year.

Kind Regards
Jaco van der Merwe
DVT Global CEO
